HELLO, I’M APARNA.

I’m a User Experience Designer based in the Bay Area with 5 years of experience. At present, I work as a Product Designer at Dave, a fintech company committed to creating solutions that equalize the financial playing field.

My journey towards design has not been linear. I started as an Electronics and Communication engineer, worked as a micro-controller programmer, completed my master's in Product Design, and pursued my second Master’s in Human Factors and Ergonomics majoring in Human-Computer Interaction from San Jose State University in 2021.

Before joining San Jose State University, I worked at Moonraft Innovation Labs, a Global Design and Customer Experience Firm in Bangalore, India for two years. I worked on various client projects:  TATA AIG General insurance website revamp, Experience Center Design for Janalakshmi Bank, and a personal finance mobile app project for World Bank - CGAP. I even lead our firm’s design team when designing a paint suggestion mobile application.

My experience has helped me grow as a designer with a different perspective towards the problems of the world. Apart from being passionate about solving problems, I am also an aspiring artist and an amateur gardener.
